Benefits Of Using An Air Fryer

I was sceptical when I bought my first air fryer, as I didn’t have much spare kitchen countertop space. I initially imagined it sitting there just taking up space, gathering dust, and not being used as often as it could be.

Once I learnt more about air fryers, I now can’t imagine cooking without it.

What are the health benefits of using an air fryer?

I first got an air fryer when I was following Slimming World and have loved it ever since. Health has to be the number one selling point for me. The prospect of what you are cooking and feeding your family is healthier for them. Cooking with an air fryer is certainly a lot healthier than a deep fat fryer.

There is little to no need for any oils or oil-type substances to be used with an air fryer. Leaving you with a way of enjoying those deep fried foods without deep fat frying them.

Some people will still opt to add a small amount of oil to certain types of food but it isn’t necessary to cook them with it, this all comes down to taste and preference. For example, healthy chips and french fries, cook extremely well in the air fryer and are one of the most popular air fried foods. If you want a slight crisper outside to them you might consider using an oil spray or oil spray alternative. The key thing here is the volume of oil being significantly less and therefore healthier for you.

Do air fryers cook quicker?

The air fryer is looking to replace certain other kitchen appliances and gadgets due to the speed at which they cook. It started with being quick at cooking but is being considered the must-have kitchen appliance for its convenience too.

More people would choose to cook at home over ordering take-outs if the cooking process wasn’t as long. Here comes the air fryer to fill that requirement. Snipping a vast amount of time off most food cooking times, the air fryer is indeed a quicker way to cook at home.

Cooking meat from frozen can be done in an air fryer. There is no thawing stage required with chicken breasts for example, simply season them and pop them into your air fryer to cook straight from the freezer.

Air fryers are a safe and effective way of cooking and take next to no time, versus conventional cookers and ovens.

What can you cook in an air fryer?

You would be shocked when you read an air fryer recipe book about how much can be cooked in an air fryer.

From meats and vegetables to curries and pizzas.

The cooking with an air fryer experience is still very new to a lot of households. Once this evolves even more recipes will be created. You might think that only solid foods can be cooked in them because of the basket or tray they come with as standard. But there are multiple silicon air frying moulds which are compatible. They are completely safe to use and enable you to cook a whole host more including liquids like curries and even cakes.

Can you use an air fryer to reheat food?

Microwaves could be a thing of the past as more people use their air fryers. No more preheating your oven and then heating up your food as the air fryer start to work immediately.

It is safe to reheat meat in them and it will even stop it from burning. You will keep that crispy taste without it overcooking.

Is it easy to clean an air fryer?

Much like your normal pots and pans, the air fryer drawer or tray will need a wash down after use. It doesn’t take a lot more effort to clean an air fryer. In fact, if you use air fryer liners and air fryer moulds within your air fryer you will be saving on the washing up too.

A lot of air fryer drawers and trays are dishwasher safe. Always check your manufacturer’s advise on your specific model. There are a variety of air fryers on the market in various sizes and shapes. They will all have a removable section, whether this is racks or baskets, these can be cleaned with ease.

I very much dislike cleaning anything greasy or fatty. Where the air fryer doesn’t need oil you won’t have this problem. You can use a grease liner to catch any fats from meats. If you have tin foil you can even make your own and try to fit the base of your air fryer basket yourself. Just cool and dispose of it afterwards the same way you would if it had been cooked in an oven.
