OddBox Subscription Box Review
About Oddbox
Oddbox was launched in 2016 by the founders Deepak and Emilie following a holiday to Portugal. It became apparent while they were holidaying that the UK’s fruit and vegetables all looked aesthetically pleasing in comparison to the products they found on the markets in Portugal.
After doing some research on their return to the UK they learnt that 40% of produce got wasted before it even made it to the supermarket shelves.
The appearance of the fruit and vegetables played a huge factor in their resale ability leading to massive waste. Appearance obviously has no real bearing on the taste of the product and thus Oddbox delivery service was created.
Oddbox Fruit And Vegetables
The fruit and vegetables you can expect to find in your Oddbox are the wonky or imperfect ones which would typically be wasted. However, the majority of the products I have received actually have been surplus, which means there were more produced than required by suppliers.
So there was absolutely no difference in their appearance but the supermarkets didn’t require them.
The only odd type item I have had was some kiwi fruits. They looked like 2 had grown into each other and didn’t look like how your typical kiwi would look. They tasted perfect so there were absolutely no complaints about my odd fruit.
Their appearance certainly makes no difference to their taste and I have never had a foul or odd-tasting product. Everything I’ve received has been fresh and has lasted until I have gotten around to eating it.
Sign Up For Oddbox Subscription Box
Signing up to Oddbox is an easy process however, it currently doesn’t cover the whole of the UK. Only certain postcodes are available for the home delivery service.
If you want to check if they deliver in your area, take a look here to check your postcode.
The Oddbox subscription comes in various sizes. The largest box is the large fruit and vegetable box which contains 9 vegetables and 4 fruits. There is also a medium, small and x-small size box.
If you want just a fruit box that is an option, or if you want just vegetables you can also choose that too.
The option to never include certain products is brilliant as I do not like celery and I never get this in my box. You can exclude up to 3 different products.
Your Oddbox is delivered overnight, so you wake up to it on your doorstep. My box is left on my doorstep and I have never had any issues. If it’s been raining my box has been enclosed in a waterproof bag so my contents don’t get wet. I also get sent an email with an image of my delivered box confirming each delivery.
My delivery is every week but you can also choose every other week if you prefer. If you want to skip a week or cancel altogether it is really easy to do that on your account section of the website.
I am extremely happy with my subscription and if you want to try it you could use my Oddbox discount for £10 off your first box.
At the time of writing this, the cheapest box is £11.99. You can pay £1.99 and then cancel if you don’t want to continue after you get your first box.
If you like the sound of this subscription box and want to try others, Earth & Wheat are another brand I have tried.
