This slimming world dessert is a syn free roulade. A roulade with a twist and contains a lot fewer calories and fat to keep in line with your syns for the day.
Having a syn free roulade dessert could be the answer to your sweet tooth craving while following Slimming World.
If the sweet omelette doesn’t help with your sweet craving, this slimming world roulade just might hit the spot.
This is something which I started making very early on in my Slimming world journey. I am definitely someone who likes dessert after my main meal. Obviously, most traditional desserts would be far too many calories and take you over your syns but this can be made syn free.
A lot of my food cravings are usually for something sweet so this hits the spot. Hopefully, it will help you stick to your new eating habit.
Syn Free Slimming World Dessert
SW Syn Free Roulade Ingredients
5 large eggs
200g quark
Sweetener
Vanilla extract
Roulade Cooking Instructions
To start with preheat your oven to 180 degrees and you will need 2 mixing bowls.
Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites and put them in separate mixing bowls. For the egg whites you need to use an electric whisk and whisk them until they are stiff peaks. To the point where you can turn the bowl upside down and the mixture doesn’t really move.
Put the 200 grams of quark into the other bowl of egg yolks, and mix it together thoroughly.
Using a folding action rather than a whisking action, you need to combine the 2 mixing bowls together.
Line a baking sheet with greaseproof paper and spray some syn free cooking spray on the paper. Fry Light has a coconut version which I use when making any sweet dishes.
Spread the mixture into the baking tray and bake for 10 minutes. You will notice it has cracks on the top and go golden in colour.
Once baked let it cool down, this doesn’t take long maybe 10 minutes at the absolute most.
Keeping the cooked mixture on the grease-proof paper, spread your fat-free yoghurt and speed food such as berries inside. Do not pile them up and smaller pieces of fruit work better, blueberries and chopped-up strawberries are my favourites.
At this stage, if you add other toppings which are not syn free you will need to count those syns to your daily allowance.
Gently roll the start of the roulade. Carry on rolling using the grease-proof paper as a rolling aid, it is easier to roll it out without it breaking apart that way.
Syn Free Slimming World Roulade Dessert
I let mine chill in the fridge before cutting it into pieces as I find it cuts nicer once chilled. You can eat it straight away from making it if you prefer.
Serving with some more speed fruit would be ideal. You can try new speed fruits with Oddbox subscription box, it gets delivered straight to your door.
Finding this syn-free roulade dessert has really helped me as there is no guilt. Granted it isn’t the speediest of dishes but you can include as much speed as you like with it
You could even adapt it slightly if you are having an SP day.
The main thing to consider with this dessert is the toppings you use. If you keep everything syn free then you could technically eat the whole thing.
Having it with a low syn ice cream like Halo Top is also a great way to enjoy it.
Once it has been refrigerated keep it covered and it can last about 3-4 days.
Another great way I enjoy this syn free roulade is with Skinnyfood Custard. It is also syn free and one of the nicer products I find on their site.
